How Freelancing Career Opportunity Introduced and Affects Me

I was once working as an Assistant Software Engineer in one of the leading IT companies here in the Philippines. But I always believe in the saying that you will never grow in every aspect of your life if you are not happy. So, after almost 2 years of working in a corporate world, I chose to quit my job and decided to went back home.

December last year, I was introduced by my former manager to the freelancing career opportunity. She shared what freelancing is all about, how her life changed into a comfortable one and most especially, how she earned money while working at home. Listening to her made me wanted to become part or one of them. I can't explain the feeling of excitement that time. Upon hearing it, I was like day-dreaming the better future of my career, the thought and the possibility where I can work from home and can spend with my family anytime I wanted to. So, I grabbed the opportunity and enrolled one of the freelancing courses offered in the FVA Academy.

As of now, I am starting my freelancing career and in the process of learning. I am still refining my skills with the help of Coach Keren Ame. Aside from the new learning and guidance of the portfolios I am working, Coach also help me boosting my confidence, motivate my works and helping my portfolios to be more excellent and presentable.

The first course I enrolled is about to end and I am learning a lot and it give me new skills where I can present and use to my future client/s. But competition on applying job is tough, indeed very tough. As a newbie in the industry of freelancing, I plan to enroll more courses in the academy. I want to learn more skills and to be competent enough. I also need to focus and work hard for it - for me to achieve my goal in life.

Someday, I want to inspire others just like how my former manager, FVA family and my coach inspires me today. I also want to influence and give them an opportunity to foresee their better future just like me.
